Why it feels different

Not a converter. A room to work in.

Most slowed + reverb sites take a file, apply one effect and hand back a download. Slowed Room is a real-time studio — every change is live, and the video is part of the same flow.

Hear it while you shape it

Speed, pitch, reverb, bass, 8D, echo, crackle — all live while the song plays. Hold A to compare with the original instantly.

The video is already made

Eight audio-reactive scenes — vinyl, rain, neon, vaporwave — rendered to a 1080p MP4 right on your device.

Private by design

No uploads, no accounts. Your music is processed by your own browser, and projects stay on your device.

Knows your song

Automatic tempo and key detection: see 120 → 102 bpm and A min → F♯ min as you slow it.

Finds the hook for you

One tap selects the strongest 15, 30 or 60 seconds — usually the chorus or the drop — snapped to a beat.

Real 8D, real reverb

Binaural HRTF rotation instead of simple panning, and convolution reverbs from a tight room to an endless void.

The sound

Tape-slow, or keep the key.

Classic slowed + reverb uses tape speed: slower is deeper, like a record at the wrong RPM. Flip to Keep pitch and our phase-locked pitch engine changes tempo without touching the key — or shifts the key without touching the tempo.

  • 0.5× to 1.5× speed, ±12 semitones in 0.1 steps
  • Room, plate, hall, cathedral and void reverbs with decay, pre-delay and tone
  • Bass boost with a limiter, muffle (“another room”), low cut, warmth
  • 8D orbit, echo, stereo width, vinyl crackle, tape wobble, fades
  • Zoomable waveform with sample-accurate trimming

The video

Eight scenes that move with the music.

Every frame reacts to the bass, mids and highs of your edit. Add your artwork and title, pick 9:16, 4:5, 1:1 or 16:9, and export.

Questions

Good to know.

What is slowed + reverb?

Slowed + reverb is a remix style where a song is played slower — usually 80–90% speed, so the pitch drops too — and soaked in reverb. The result feels dreamy, nostalgic and late-night. It took off on YouTube around 2017 and is everywhere on TikTok today.

Is Slowed Room free?

Yes. Audio and video exports are free, without sign-up. A small “slowedroom.com” credit appears on videos by default and you can turn it off.

Are my songs uploaded anywhere?

No. Decoding, effects, analysis and encoding all run inside your browser. Your files never leave your device; projects are saved in your browser’s local storage so you can come back to them.

What are the best slowed + reverb settings?

A great starting point is 85% speed in tape mode, a hall reverb around 35–40% with a 4–5 second decay, and +3 dB of bass. Go to 70–75% and a cathedral for “ultra slowed”. Our settings guide has recipes by genre.

Can I paste a YouTube link?

No — downloading audio from YouTube or Spotify breaks their terms and usually the artist’s copyright. You can drop in your own files (including MP4s you download from your own YouTube Studio), record, use a direct file link, or pick from thousands of Creative Commons tracks in the built-in library.

Can I make a video for TikTok, Reels or Shorts?

Yes. Switch to Video, pick one of eight audio-reactive scenes, and export a 1080×1920 MP4. “Find the hook” selects the best 15, 30 or 60 seconds automatically.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes — on recent iPhones and Android phones. On mobile you can share the finished file straight to other apps.
